Lonnie Johnson spent his childhood (and adulthood) tinkering with things. But when picking out this book I wondered if it was just nostalgia for people my age or if it would resonate with kids today. I think every kid in the nineties had a Super Soaker or at least had a friend with one. But it is his invention of the Super Soaker water gun that has made his most memorable splash with kids and adults.
